CITY BUILD APPOINTED TO CARRY OUT SECOND PHASE OF REDEVELOPMENT WORKS AT WALKDEN TOWN CENTRE

Acting on behalf of the Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation, Derwent Estates has announced the appointment of City Build as the principal contractor for the second phase of the ongoing redevelopment of Walkden Town Centre. The second phase contract, valued at £10 million, follows a competitive tender process and will see demolition commence in August 2025. The works, including the development of a new external façade, are planned to take 16 months.

This significant appointment marks the next step in a major regeneration project that aims to transform Walkden Town Centre into a modern, vibrant destination for the local community and visitors alike. Designed by architectural practice, The Ratcliffe Groves Partnership, the scheme was granted planning last year with Savills the retained planning consultants for the project.

City Build, an award-winning contractor based in Walkden, was also responsible for successfully delivering the first phase of the redevelopment.
