Nandos arrives at White City Retail Park

Nando’s is the latest tenant to sign up to Manchester’s White City Retail Park.

Taking the 3,461 sq ft unit which was previously home to Pizza Hut, the peri-peri chicken chain of restaurants is expected to open in July 2019 and has signed a 20 year lease with park owners The Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation.

The arrival of Nando’s brings the park tenant line-up to 16 which includes M&S Food Hall, Sofology, Aldi, Costa, Home Bargains, Curry’s and Wren Kitchens and follows the recent letting to Halfords.

James Maule-Ffinch, senior asset manager for Derwent Estates, said: “Nando’s is a very popular brand and its addition helps to really strengthen the food and beverage offer at White City Retail Park. Occupying a prominent unit at the Chester Road entrance, we expect Nando’s to be an additional footfall generator for the park as a whole and we welcome them to our tenant portfolio.”

White City Retail Park totals 210,570 sq ft of retail space and 658 car parking spaces. The park underwent a £10m refurbishment in 2016 to create an additional 56,000 sq ft of units.

Joint agents for White City Retail Park are Cheetham & Mortimer and CSP.

White City Retail Park is owned by The Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation and managed by Derwent Estates, as part of the Foundation’s property portfolio which extends to 1.74m sq ft across nine retail parks in the north of England, and includes retail, leisure, office spaces, and residential properties.
